WHY AM I NOT HAVING PEACE?

Sometimes, we suffer too much in this life. Surrounded by darkness and confusion, fear and insecurity, we suffer and feel anguish, sadness, loneliness...

When our circumstances produce fear and suffering in us, we begin to believe in lies (from our minds and the enemy) and totally lose our trust in God.

So, here you will understand the reason why you haven't been able to feel peace.
Also how to be able to have this peace that you're needing.

HEBREWS 12: 28-29
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
For our God is a consuming fire.”

NAHUM 1: 7
“The LORD is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him.”

COLOSSIANS 2: 6-7
“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught,
abounding in it with thanksgiving.”

1 PETER 4: 2
“that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men,
but for the will of God.”

2 TIMOTHY 2: 19
“Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal:
“The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

TITUS 2: 12-14
“teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.”

2 TIMOTHY 2: 22-23
“Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife.”

The first step to find peace is to reject evil.

When we reject evil we begin to sanctify ourselves, and this brings us closer to the Prince of Peace, Jesus.
God is good and Holy, so rejecting evil is the first step to get closer to God.

1 THESSALONIANS 4: 1-3
“Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;”

COLOSSIANS 2: 2-3
“that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,
in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

HEBREWS 12: 14
“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:”

HEBREWS 12: 9-11
“Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect.
Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?

For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.

Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”

The strength needed to reject evil, comes from our focus on heaven, on the eternal things.

It comes also from our will to have peace.
Rejecting evil is wisdom and nothing makes us feel more full and more in peace than wisdom.

JAMES 1: 21-22
“Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

HEBREWS 6: 18-20
“that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,

Where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”

1 THESSALONIANS 5: 8-9
“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.

For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,”

If you have lost your peace, is necessary to renounce certain ways and directions that you've taken.

Certain habits, futilities, things, people or places that are not cooperating with your sanctification

Sometimes certain sins or certain people.
A way of talking, behaviors, what you do or say, where you go. There are always ways to sanctify ourselves more.

Stop for a while and meditate on this. Think if there is a habit that is causing you harm, that is devaluing yourself, destroying yourself.

Maybe a place that you've been going to.
Maybe one or more people who are damaging you.

Sometimes, old friendships from the world must go...

Then we become restored by the Lord.

The Lord restores us because He sees that we chose to obey His Word.
We chose the good. We chose the Kingdom.
We chose Life.

1 THESSALONIANS 5: 22-24
“Abstain from every form of evil.
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”

Peace comes from Trust, and trust comes from sanctification.
(Read my post "What is sanctification?")

Because when we sanctify ourselves, rejecting what we must reject, we receive light, power, and anointing from God and we become FIRM AND ESTABLISHED in God's Presence.

Integrity is a sign of a sanctified person.

For example, lying is lack of integrity. To stop lying is to sanctify yourself.
Lying is from the enemy, Jesus is the Truth, so a lier is not purified yet.

Turning away from evil and wickedness is the beginning of what's needed to find peace in your soul.

Reject what is coming from the world to your life, from the darkness. And grab godliness, leaving what is behind and possessing by faith the Kingdom of God.

EPHESIANS 4: 22-24
“that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”

EPHESIANS 4: 15
“but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ- “

1 THESSALONIANS 3: 12-13
“And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you,
so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ
with all His saints."

So, Be strong!
You can do this!
Have the willpower to resist evil!
Stay away from the person or situation that is causing you harm! Or that is bringing an influence from the darkness.

"Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
James 4: 7
