RESPECT YOUR SINCERITY
"for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."
Philippians 2: 13
This Word helps us realize that we don't need to force anything. Rather, more than that, we need to RESPECT our inner will.
How many times we want to say yes and we say no? Or the contrary? How many times we act forcibly when what we want is to hide in God and have some time for ourselves? Or we want to take action but we feel fear and do not do it?
If God is who works in us both to will and to do, this means that we must act according to our will.
Of course, this Word is not saying that we must always do our will and ignore the voice of God or disobey Him.
But how many times we can't do something we really want for not respecting and obeying our will?
Or how many times we do something and regret because it was not quite what we wanted to do?
So if our will comes from God, both the will to say "no" and the will to say "yes" come from Him.
I want to encourage you to not force yourself do something that you don't really want to do.
Respecting your will your respect the timing and the will of God. You give room for the Holy Spirit so He may work in your favor.
Of course, sometimes we need to submit our will to the will of God, to what He is telling us to do.
And we often end up finding out that it was our will too but we were blinded by anxiety, worry, fear, etc.
Sometimes we need to ignore our anxiety and listen to our true inner will.
We need to quiet ourselves and value us. Not value us with pride in our heart, but value what we feel and want.
There are many situations and relationships that awaken emotions in us which bring us to ignore or not notice what we really want inside. We have to be careful with that. Because our inner will comes from God to guide our life.
But there are also situations that we need to let wisdom speak louder than our heart. That's why is always good to seek God and listen to what He has to say.
"Is not your reverence your confidence?
And the integrity of your ways your hope?
Job 4: 6
I find this verse super powerful.
He is saying that we can trust in the fear of God. And that walking with sincerity (integrity) in our ways we can have hope because it will not fail, it will not disappoint us.
I've always found sincerity one of the most important and precious thing.
But many times I've caught myself not respecting my true inner will. In other words, not being sincere with myself and others, not acting with true integrity, although I've always judged myself sincere.
God uses the first verse of this message a lot with me, encouraging me to take action when I feel doubt, or, when I don't want to do something, to just not do it, so I decided to transfer this to you.
Because I've realized how this is a very subtle thing, we don't always notice it. It happens very deep in our heart or soul and we cannot see it.
So I want to encourage you to every time you feel doubt, unsure, fear, anxiety, or anything except deep peace, to stop everything and seek God.
Go read the Bible, go to church, but delay your decisions and actions if possible until you understand what is happening inside you or what God is trying to tell you.
May we never forget that both our will and do comes from God.
Respecting and submitting with fear of Him, for our own good and our life's.
"Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: "Consider your ways!" (In the Portuguese Bible: "Apply your hearts into your ways!")
You have sown much, and bring in little;
You eat but do not have enough;
You drink, but you are not filled with drink;
You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm;
And he who earns wages,
Earns wages to put into a bag with holes."
Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Consider your ways!" (In the Portuguese Bible: "Apply your hearts into your ways!")
