How to give the control to God

There are different levels and types of control to be given to God.

Believers are people who decided to give the control of their lives to God. But after that decision, we still come across other types of control to be given.

But before I talk about that, I want to explain the reason why it's not God who is in control of the life of an unbeliever and what that means.

God has the sovereign control of all things, people, and beings. But the individual leadership of the life of a person it is something He leaves optional, it is something that must be decided by each one of us if we want God to be our leader or not.

A person who still hasn't given the control of their life to Jesus is in the hands of the devil. Why?

When God created Adam and Eve, He gave them a condition: To eat all the fruits of the garden of Eden except the fruit of a specific tree.

Because they decided to disobey, they fell in the hand and lordship of satan. That is, they subjected themselves to the devil and disobeyed God becoming slaves of sin, slaves of evil, receiving a sinful nature.

God then decided, by love, to rescue men from the hands of the devil. Sending Jesus, His Son.

Jesus, dying on the cross, and pouring His Holy blood in exchange for the lives who believe in Him,
was buying His Lordship back over men.

But until today, God gives to men the power of decision, of choice: men can decide if he wants or not the Lordship of God.

Just as Adam and Eve decided to not obey God and obey the devil, today there is still this power of decision or free will.

Only the ones who make the decision and the choice to give their lives to Jesus receive the Lordship and the sovereign leadership of God over their lives.

So, we only get out of the hands of the devil after giving our lives to Jesus.

This is the first surrender of control to God that a human being can do.

Only with this surrender someone receives salvation and go to heaven. Besides receiving also the leadership of the Holy Spirit during their life here on earth.

Besides that, there is a control that we all need to give to God even after giving our lives to Jesus, which is the control of being in control.

When the disciples were discussing between them who was the greatest, Jesus brings the attention back to Himself. Making them see that He is the greatest of all.
(Luke 22: 24-30)

When we turn our focus back to Jesus we are giving the control back to God.

It is necessary to remove the focus from the situation, from the person, from the circumstance and put it on Jesus.

That's how we give the control to God.

We need to love Jesus more than our lives again. Because when we do that we receive the life back. But when we remove the focus from Jesus, we lose.

"He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it."
(Matthew 10: 39)
