Don't be religious!

What is a religious person?

Someone religious isn't necessarily someone who follows a religion.

Many believers don't like religiosity. But there are religious believers.

A religious believer cannot follow their sincerity. This person follows external things, including commandments that go against what they really want to do. It's necessary to have an internal transformation made by the Holy Spirit and not force that transformation.

A religious person is fake, it's a pharisee. It's a hypocrite.

When we want to serve God going against our will we may fall into religiosity.

To serve God is necessary enjoyment.

God wants friends, partners and not slaves.

We may become slaves for lack of sincerity.

When we annul our sincerity we are doing a sacrifice and God doesn't want that.

"But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
Matthew 9: 13

Read more on this HERE.

There is no use to follow something that you believe if that's different from what you feel.

If in your interior you want to do something but you don't do it for forcing to trying doing what you think is right, you are a fake person.

You follow sacrifices and that's religiosity.

Religiosity is fakeness.

Doing what you don't want, to follow a belief or a way of thinking is to force something external against who you are internally and that's is lack of authenticity.

Lack of authenticity brings a heavy yoke to your life.

Besides that, it goes against the law of God which is love.

There is only love where there are sincerity and authenticity.

Religiosity crucified Jesus.

Pilates believed in Jesus, saw He was the Messiah but forced against what He saw and believed to follow what seemed right in his mind.

Following what we think is right without our heart going with it is to assassinate ourselves.

It's to smash the freedom and the abundant life that Jesus bought for us.

We call it religiosity because that's what religions are. They force external things into the inside of us.

Following Jesus is the contrary of religion. It's to have our internal being transformed and bringing that to the outside.

Religion is the opposite of liberation.

But to live in sincerity is to live in constant freedom.

Forcing to do or to follow things that go against our sincerity or what we really want is imprisonment.

If you serve God without sincerity, that is, without wanting or loving to do it, you besides not being useful, you are not pleasing Him.

God prefers that you stop serving Him because then you will start serving Him.

To serve God it is not to do things to God.
To serve God is to be His intimate.

It is to have the heart aligned authentically to Him.

Many people don't even know what is their own authenticity due to the custom practice of following and doing what they think they should.

Our internal values and parameters help us to firm ourselves in our sincerity.
But forcing to have values and parameters that we do not feel it internally, is religiosity.

Jesus came to set people free from religiosity.

He needed to break everything. He broke all the protocols. He started being born in an adapted place, humble and without honor. Showing since His birth that appearances don't serve to establish who someone is.

That is useless to have an appearance before men we all know, now, what is necessary to understand is that is also useless to have an appearance before God.

There is no use to do something if you want to do something else.

Doing that is useless both to who follows Jesus as well as to who follows themselves.

Even if you follow yourself, following your reason without aligning with your internal feelings is religiosity, fakeness, and imprisonment.

So my conclusion here is:

Find out what you want.

Find that our with all your strength.

Find out what you want, what you feel internally and what you really believe, not because you learned it's right but because it's what your heart really thinks.

Commit yourself to find that out.

Once discovered, strive to act accordingly.

Make an effort. Get the courage to take the attitude you should take so that you may be living according to what you want and not according to what you believe it's necessary to want.

"I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness." (Portuguese translation - "sincerity")
1 Chronicles 29: 17a
