It's necessary to detach yourself

"For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."
Matthew 16:25

To me, this verse is the most intriguing one of the Bible.

How many times have I read it and didn't understand anything and other times I read it and understood everything.

Everything that God starts to do in our lives always starts to enter our hearts, but when we put our heart on that and take it out from Jesus, it's time to read that verse.

It's time to detach ourselves...

A relationship, a job, money, friends, anything may "rob" our hearts from the focus and priority which is Jesus and His Kingdom.

Then what happens when that happens? The thing starts not going very well. Why?

"For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."
Matthew 16:25

So it is time to relocate the things in our hearts. It's time to detach yourself from something and attach yourself to Jesus and His Kingdom.

Detaching yourself, leaving the thing out of our control and even of the heart, it's what fixes things.

It's necessary that everything in our lives belong to God and that He always be the manager of everything. It's necessary that everything always be in His hands and not in ours.

Because or else, it happens what we don't want, which is having defeat in the area that we are not giving to God. That's what that verse is saying.

Sometimes it's not even the control that we must give to God, but our hearts. The area of our hearts that it's not putting Him in the first place.

It's not needed to be afraid to detach because when something is being done by God, the thing doesn't undo.
And if God is not in the thing why do we want it, right?

"And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing; but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it—lest you even be found to fight against God.”
Acts 5: 38-39

We don't want our hearts attached to something that it's not being done by God, so detaching will only bring us benefits.

Because if it's not God who is doing it, it will undo, but if it is, God will do something.

Has God already said if it's Him who is doing the thing in your life?

Obey His orientation so that you may have success or be free from it.

Sometimes, not detaching yourself from something is to fight against God, even if that thing is His work. (As we see in the Word above).

God wants to do a certain thing and our attachment stops Him.

So "losing" our life for His love causes us to find it.
But finding it, that is, grabbing it and not letting go, causes us to lose it.

Life here can be anything. (Relationship, job, etc).

Let God save the situation. Give it to Him.

I know that requires a deep trust in God. But in this trust, there is a reward.
