Faith brings a revelation
In this post, I would like to talk about the wisdom of the prostitute Rahab.
Before starting to read this message, it's essential that you stop for a moment and read with attention Joshua chapter 2.
Click here to read it online.
I'm going to talk about that history and I need you to read it so you may understand it.
Rahab's faith gave her the revelation that God was giving that land to the two spies.
"and said to the men: “I know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you.
For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.
And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath."Joshua 2: 9-11
Rahab was with so much faith in God that she "got it" (received the revelation from the Holy Spirit) that He was giving that land to the two men. She had a lot of wisdom wanting to help them. That demonstrates submission and fear of God.
She believed in God when seeing His acting. (When seeing the Red Sea open and other things too, see Joshua 2: 10). So she soon had the revelation that that land was going to belong to them.
When we believe we receive a spiritual inheritance and the Holy Spirit gives us the revelation of what is going to happen so that we may be part of what He is doing.
That's what the Holy Spirit did to Rahab. He revealed to her what God was going to do so that she would be part of that. So she soon acted with wisdom.
When God gives us a revelation He is giving us a present and putting us as partakers of His goodness.
He is putting us in a situation of blessing made by Him.
"So the men answered her, “Our lives for yours, if none of you tell this business of ours. And it shall be, when the Lord has given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you.”
Joshua 2: 14

Joshua 2: 14
Rahab was smart wanting to help two men that were favored by God instead of being against them like many people were doing. She wanted to cooperate with God because she believed in Him.
And by her realizing that God is good, she saw in it an opportunity to have her own and her family's lives spared.
She wanted a little piece of God's goodness.
And God gave that to her because He saw that she believed, so when revealing to her that that land would be given to those men, God was including her in His goodness.
I want to emphasize here that people not always are included in God's goodness, only when they believe in Him.
And when God gives you a revelation of a situation, that means that you are gaining a piece of His goodness. It means that He is including you in something good that He is doing.
So believe that the thing will be really good, know that you can trust in God in this that He is doing because He has revealed something to you.
He included you in His goodness and even if everything seems turbulent, that in which He is doing is worthy of trust.
Have strength and faith to wait for the end of the process.
And like the prostitute Rahab, know that your situation is an opportunity.
God revealed to you something that He is doing and that is your opportunity to prepare yourself to what he said He will do.
Like Rahab, you were included in the power of God.
To us, things don't always look soft and perfect, but what God does is really well done and He is faithful.
Believe! Prepare yourself to what He said will happen.
When I say "prepare yourself" I don't mean simply "be prepared", "be vigilant", I mean, take actions and needed measures to what is going to happen, do your best to be your best when it happens.
And like Rahab trusted, put the red cord and waited, trust, stand firm, knowing that the Lord is powerful in His acting!
